Topic: Customer Relations

Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) can be complex and challenging, but the costs of not complying can be much, much higher. It’s critical for small business owners to be informed of ADA compliance issues – not only to properly manage legal exposure, but also because it’s the right thing to do for your customers.

The Northwest ADA Center will lead a live ADA accessibility training and Q&A for small businesses in Clatsop County.

The on-demand training will consist of the following:

  • Brief ADA Overview
  • Title III for Businesses
  • Reasonable Modifications for Customers with Disabilities
  • Readily Achievable Barrier Removal
  • When do the 2010 Accessible Design Standards Apply?
  • A Bit about Websites
  • Q&A

The Northwest ADA Center is funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), and is part of the ADA National Network. The ADA National Network Centers are a national platform of ten centers comprised of ADA professionals and experts charged with assisting businesses, state and local governments, and people with disabilities as they manage the process of changing our culture to be user friendly to disability and the effect the variety of health conditions can have on society.

This workshop is free thanks to CARES Act Funding.

Clatsop Community College SBDC workshops are not eligible for continuing education credits and we will not be able to issue any certificates of completion or provide similar statements or documentation.
