Salem Capitol Connections provides Oregon entrepreneurs with opportunities to connect with public and private entities that lead to sustainable business relationships and opportunities.

Jesse Juarez and Jeanine Gomez from Department of Administrative Services’ Procurement Equity team will present on how state agencies go about procuring goods and services.

  • What’s happening behind the scenes before bids are even solicited
  • How and why procurement decisions are made
  • Common errors or issues on bids that aren’t accepted vs those that are
  • How small businesses can better position themselves for direct awards
