COBID team members Luke Szatmary and Brad Darcy will be presenting "How COBID Certification Can Help a Small Business Get Into Government Contracting"
Luke Szatmary is a Program Analyst for the Certification Office for Business Inclusion and Development. Luke's career started with the application of data science to project management work. They worked for a small M,W,ESB certified business doing contracting with the Portland Water Bureau. They were inspired to transition into State Government where they focus on helping other small businesses get government contracts. Their passion is engaging small businesses and leveling the playing field to keep Oregon's economy local, competitive, and diverse.
Brad Darcy serves as a Small Business Certification Specialist with the Certification Office for Business Inclusion and Diversity (COBID), a role he has held since March 2022. In this position, he assists businesses in navigating the certification application process and helps connect firms with opportunities available through Oregon's certification programs. Prior to joining COBID, Brad served as Director of Human Resources for Chinook Winds Casino Resort. He also previously served the State of Oregon as Director of the Oregon State Athletic Commission. Brad attended Oregon State University earning a degree in Political Science. He and his wife have four adult daughters, one son-in-law, and four cats.
