Have you been thinking about starting your own business or recently done so? The Clatsop SBDC has assembled a thorough 5-week course that will walk you through everything you need to know to successfully refine your business concept and ensure that you have a solid working plan. Coupled with individual coaching from an expert SBDC advisor, this course covers the start-up journey and provides actionable insight into what you need to know to get your business off the ground. Participants will develop a business plan and present those at the conclusion of the course to receive a $200 grant towards their start-up costs (provided by CEDR) and be eligible to win a special $1,000 grant for the top business plan presented, provided by Wauna Credit Union.

The Summer Start-up Bootcamp is limited to approximately 10 participants who own businesses in Clatsop, Pacific or Wahkiakum counties.

Speaker(s): Meyer Freeman, SBDC Advisor & Jessica Newhall, Associate Director of Clatsop SBDC Meyer Freeman has been an SBDC Advisor since March 2020 and specializes in supporting individuals who are looking to start their small business. Originally from Knappa, Meyer returned to Clatsop County after a 20-year career in Portland with non-profit organization Sport Oregon, and has assisted more than 100 local businesses during the economic fallout caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Jessica Newhall, Associate Director at the Clatsop SBDC, is dedicated to helping clients overcome barriers and devise solutions for long-term success. With a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and over 20 years of business experience, she is uniquely suited to advising business owners. Her coaching approach to helping entrepreneurs successfully navigate the complexity of business ownership is drawn from her own business experience overseeing the strategic, financial, and day-to-day operations.

Non-credit Class/Workshop Refund Policy: For a class with three sessions or more, students must drop the class within two business days of the class start date in order to receive a full refund.
