Food & Beverage Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp

Are you an entrepreneur with a great recipe or idea that you would like to develop into a consumer-packaged product, but need additional support to turn it into a successful business? This 5-week Boot Camp will cover many topics including recipe/product development, packaging considerations, labeling requirements, regulatory agencies, manufacturing logistics, distribution, marketing, and pricing strategies. Participants will also be introduced to key players in the industry such as kitchen managers, technical advisors, product buyers, and regulators.

The Clatsop SBDC has partnered with local experts to deliver a comprehensive program that will cover what you need to not only create and sell your product but also put you on a path to building a successful packaged food or beverage business that is able to scale up as your business demands.

The program includes:

*Five educational sessions, including one “pitch” session where you present your product plan to class participants and experts for feedback

*Individual advising sessions with an SBDC business advisor to help you apply what you are learning in the classroom to your business.

*Technical advising to assist with recipe refinement, product costing, and working in a commercial setting.

Who should attend?
This program will be helpful to a wide range of individuals who are in the process of building a packaged food business, such as:

*A restaurant owner or chef who wants to brand a special product for customers to take home or to sell at retail stores.

*A person who wants to produce and package a unique food product developed from a family recipe.

*A farmer who wants to create local jelly made from berries they grow and sell at markets.

*A person who has a passion and recipe for a packaged craft beverage.

*A home baker who would like to expand beyond their cottage-industry kitchen or sell their products at retail.

This cohort is provided in partnership with Astoria Co+Op and North Coast Food Web
