The Business Planning Bootcamp covers the essentials of business, marketing, financial, and operational planning. By the end, you’ll have key sections of your business plan drafted and a clearer path for launching or expanding your business.

This hands-on course includes two workshops (three hours each, six hours total). Bring a laptop if you prefer, or use the paper template provided.

Workshop Breakdown:

Business & Marketing Planning- Learn core planning steps used by successful business owners. Explore your target customers, marketing strategies, and how to build strong connections.

Financial & Operations Planning- Review important financial and operational tools: projections, reports, cost of goods/services, operating expenses, and pricing.

You will begin drafting your business plan during both sessions.

Who Should Attend: Anyone ready to start or grow a business—whether you’re moving beyond the idea stage, registered with the State of Oregon, refining an existing plan, or shifting from part-time to full-time operations.

Course Description: The Business Accelerator Bootcamp offers foundational and practical concepts for business, financial, and marketing planning. The three classes in the series include: • Business planning workshop: Students will learn common planning considerations of successful owners who start or expand a business. They will start drafting these sections of their business plan: Executive Summary, Goals, and Value Proposition. • Marketing planning workshop: It will be all about their customers. They will explore what will entice and connect them through targeted marketing, outreach, and relationship building efforts. They will start drafting the Marketing section of their business plan. • Financial planning workshop: They will focus on common indicators that business owners use to gauge and track the financial health of their business: financial reports and projections, cost of goods/services sold, operating costs, and pricing. They will start drafting the Financial and Operations sections of their business plan. In between the series’ workshops, 1-on-1 sessions with a business advisor will help them further consider and apply the concepts learned in the workshops to their business plan and develop the next action steps for moving forward to start the business or launch the expansion.
